🔹 EdgeLam – Our In-House Sustainable Timber
Many of our staircases use EdgeLam, our own trademark edge-laminated timber system. Unlike some engineered timber products imported from high-energy manufacturing plants overseas, EdgeLam is produced in-house using a cold-press process that dramatically reduces energy consumption.
✅ Why EdgeLam is Greener:
Cold press lamination = far less energy than radio-frequency or hot press systems
No long-distance shipping of pre-engineered blocks from Asia
Flexible production sizes = less waste and better use of material
Made on-site = fewer emissions from transport and packaging
By producing EdgeLam in the UK, we avoid the high carbon footprint associated with engineered timber cores that require heating, gluing, and pressing under energy-intensive processes.

We carefully select the origin of our raw materials to ensure sustainability, quality, and efficiency.
🌲 Pine from Northern Sweden
Our pine is sourced from forests above the Arctic Circle, where slow growth results in tight grain, higher density, and less waste. It’s kiln-dried to our exact moisture content specifications, ideal for EdgeLam production and perfectly suited to UK indoor environments.
🌳 Oak from Croatia, Kiln-Dried in Italy
Our European oak comes from responsibly managed forests in Croatia and is professionally kiln-dried at a mill in Italy. This short, traceable supply chain ensures both quality and lower environmental impact.
