Pine Stairs
The Pine stairs offered by Stairplan are manufactured from a superior Engineered Pine.
The Stringers are 32mm in thickness and on straight sections finished at 240mm, this is equivalent from Ex 10" x 1 1/2" many manufacturers will be offering stair stringers from Ex 9" x 1 1/4" white wood which is structurally lightweight in comparison, This and the fact that the Engineered pine is far more stable, The Engineered pine comes from Managed Forests ( PEFC) and is far more visually appealing than the white wood makes Stairplan Staircases a far superior product.
The Treads on the stair on the left are 22mm Engineered Pine , Far superior than MDF Treads , MDF stair treads are very easy to produce hence the savings for having a stair with MDF Treads but they will reduce the life span of a staircase significantly in comparison to a Pine Tread, The MDF tread has a number of weaknesses starting with its vulnerability to water to its ease of splitting, damage is frequently caused by carpet fitters also as MDF isn't the easiest material to nail into.

The Staircase on the left has a 45 degree angled corner detail, the Entry step is a Double Bullnose step.
